Microsoft led US AI names higher, closing up 3.66 percent after the company’s biggest Copilot update gave agents their own email, calendar and identity. The move matters for the AI economy because it signals a shift from chatbot assistance to autonomous enterprise agents, which is where the next wave of software revenue is expected to come from. Alphabet added 0.46 percent and Amazon gained 0.12 percent, but Meta fell 3.33 percent, leaving the software and cloud group split.
Chip and compute names were steadier. Nvidia and AMD both added 0.22 percent, Broadcom rose 0.70 percent and ASML led the group with a 1.24 percent gain after its chief called on Europe to boost chip demand. TSMC slipped 0.12 percent. Robotics was mixed, with Intuitive Surgical up 1.42 percent and Tesla down 1.54 percent. The Nasdaq Composite added 0.48 percent.
In crypto, Solana jumped 3.48 percent against a flat bitcoin and ethereum. Among AI ETFs, the robotics-focused KraneShares Humanoid fund led with a 1.39 percent gain.
