A report from the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare (AIHW) has found hospitalisations from e-scooter incidents have more than tripled over the past five years, driven primarily by a surge in injuries among teenage boys. Boys aged 12 to 15 were 15 times more likely to end up in hospital from an e-scooter fall in 2024/25 than they were in 2019/20, and four times more likely than girls in the same age group.
