AWS has introduced Lambda Web Functions, a new service that lets developers run standard Node.js web applications built with frameworks such as Express and Hono directly on Lambda, with concurrent request handling, response streaming and billing based on active CPU time rather than time spent waiting on downstream services.

On Saturday, October 24, AWS will disconnect its European Sovereign Cloud from the AWS Global Network backbone for several hours to demonstrate that the region can operate independently. The test, which aligns with the EU Cloud Sovereignty Framework and Germany's BSI C3A criteria, is designed to prove that critical services remain functional without connectivity to the global infrastructure.
