Prime Minister Andy Burnham has asked Chancellor John Healey and Energy Secretary Miatta Fahnbulleh to review the removal of standing charges from gas bills, the government announced during Prime Minister's Questions. Mr Burnham made the pledge while defending the government's approval of the Jackdaw gas field, a decision he said was delayed by the previous Conservative government's mishandling of the approval process.
