Ukraine's Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War reported on Oct. 20 that 45,959 foreigners from 151 countries and unrecognized territories have signed contracts with the Russian Armed Forces since the full-scale invasion began in 2022. The Ukrainian agency said recruitment has accelerated sharply this year, with 16,168 individuals identified in the first nine months of 2026, already surpassing the total for all of 2025.
