The Metropolitan Police have launched an investigation into an allegation that jailed former Democratic Unionist Party (DUP) leader Jeffrey Donaldson raped a woman inside the Houses of Parliament in 2016. Scotland Yard confirmed on 21 October that it received a report from the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) on 13 October relating to an alleged rape by a man now aged 63. The development comes just days after Donaldson was sentenced to 15 years in prison for a series of child sex offences, including one rape, committed between 1985 and 2008.
