Firefighters and the public were knowingly put at risk during this year's wildfires in Wales due to chronic underfunding, the Fire Brigades Union (FBU) has said. An FBU survey following the fires found that 69 per cent of firefighters felt significantly under-equipped, with fewer than one in ten reporting they were fully equipped, and nearly half said welfare facilities during deployment were insufficient.
