Scientists have produced a global map of where ancient rains on Mars may have delivered formaldehyde, a key building block for life, billions of years ago. The map, led by researchers at the Institute of Science Tokyo, could help future robotic and crewed missions select landing sites where evidence of past microbial life might still be preserved.
