A multi-storey building under construction collapsed in Nairobi’s Eastleigh district on Friday 23 October, sending a vast pile of concrete and twisted debris onto Yusuf Haji Avenue. The Kenya Red Cross dispatched emergency response teams shortly after the 1:40 pm local time collapse and began search-and-rescue operations amid fears that several people remain trapped beneath the rubble.
