The United Arab Emirates has nominated Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Lana Nusseibeh to become the next United Nations secretary-general, entering a crowded race to replace António Guterres when his term ends in December. If selected, she would be the first Arab woman and the second Arab to lead the world body.
