NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) is celebrating its 90th anniversary, tracing its origins to a Halloween rocket test in 1936 by Caltech graduate students. Managed by Caltech for NASA, the lab is marking the milestone with a look at past achievements, first U.S. satellite, first planetary flybys, Mars rovers, and future missions including the SkyFall Mars helicopters, MoonFall lunar drones, and the asteroid-hunting NEO Surveyor.
