Business · Ofcom finds no significant change in harmful content seen by children

The UK's online regulator has admitted that landmark safety measures have failed to reduce the proportion of children suffering harm on social media, with a review of the first nine months of the Online Safety Act's children's duties finding no significant change in exposure to harmful content. Campaigners called the assessment 'staggering', and the findings come a week after a coroner linked suicide-related TikTok content to the death of a 14-year-old.
