Cybersecurity researchers using an advanced OpenAI artificial intelligence model have identified a critical vulnerability in the PHP programming language that powers up to 70% of the world's websites. The bug, dubbed PHP2Shell, had existed for at least a decade before being uncovered by ethical hackers in California. The PHP Foundation has released fixes and urged immediate updates, while the FBI advised organizations that cannot patch to temporarily take their sites offline.
