Brisbane · Stanwell chief executive Michael O'Rourke removed in quietly announced board decision

Stanwell, one of Queensland's five government-owned energy companies, has parted with chief executive Michael O'Rourke, saying in a quietly published statement on Monday that the board believed it was the "right time for a leadership transition" as part of renewal in the sector. The departure leaves CleanCo as the only state-owned energy company yet to change its chief executive since the Crisafulli LNP government won office two years ago.
