Leaked U.S. Army documents describe a program to deploy autonomous, self-replicating AI agents that would navigate enemy digital networks, identify targets and neutralize them, according to a report by The Intercept. The program, code-named ECHOTRIBBLE, has drawn safety warnings from cybersecurity experts over the risks of offensive AI worms operating with little human oversight.
