Health & Medicine · WHO warns of more complex Ebola outbreak as disease spreads to East and West Africa

The World Health Organization has warned that the Ebola outbreak in Africa is becoming increasingly complex, with cases now confirmed in three countries across East and West Africa. Nigeria reported its first case of the Bundibugyo strain on Tuesday, becoming the fourth African country affected since the outbreak began in the Democratic Republic of Congo in May, where it has killed more than 4,000 people. Health authorities are investigating whether the Nigerian patient, the Ugandan-born wife of a Swiss diplomat, may have encountered Kenya's first patient at a Ugandan airport, as questions emerge over her travel history.
