Forrestania Resources has updated its mineral resource estimates for the Lady Ada and Lady Magdalene gold deposits in Western Australia, collectively known as "The Ladies", delivering a combined 285,700 ounces of gold at a grade of 1.82 grams per tonne. The deposits are located near Aztec Mining's historic Bounty gold mine and 80 kilometres from the company's Lake Johnson processing plant.

The resource update comprises 72,500 ounces for Lady Ada and 213,200 ounces for Lady Magdalene, which sit less than 100 metres apart. The total estimate of 4.89 million tonnes uses a 0.5g/t cut-off grade.

A key feature of the update is a 43 per cent increase in the higher-confidence measured and indicated categories, lifting the combined resource to 1.69 million tonnes grading 1.85g/t for 100,400 ounces of gold. The measured component stands at 158,000 tonnes at 3.04g/t for 15,400 ounces, while the indicated portion adds 1.53 million tonnes at 1.73g/t for 85,000 ounces, with the balance in the inferred category.

Interestingly, the update also resulted in a minor four per cent decrease in the total ounce count following a re-estimation by independent consultants Widenbar and Associates. This adjustment is said to lend a higher degree of confidence to the new numbers.

Forrestania Resources chairman David Geraghty said: "We believe this resource will play an important role in Forrestania's strategy of establishing long-term gold production."

Mineralisation at the deposits is typical of Archaean-aged, shear-zone hosted deposits in the Yilgarn region, concealed beneath 8 to 12 metres of cover and hosted primarily in a quartz dolerite unit.

Analysis

Why This Matters

  • Strengthens Forrestania's gold inventory and de-risks the project for potential development.
  • Proximity to existing infrastructure (Lake Johnson plant) could reduce development costs.
  • The upgrade in higher-confidence resource categories may attract partner interest or financing.

Background

Forrestania Resources is an Australian gold exploration company focused on the Yilgarn region of Western Australia, a prolific gold-producing area. The Lady Ada mine was last in production in 2003. The company has been advancing its Forrestania Hub with the aim of establishing long-term gold production.

Key Perspectives

Forrestania Resources: The company views the resource upgrade as a key step in its strategy to establish long-term gold production, leveraging the high-confidence resource base and proximity to processing infrastructure. Investors and market analysts: The increase in measured and indicated resources improves project economics and reduces geological risk, potentially supporting a feasibility study or development decision. Critics/Skeptics: The total ounce count saw a minor decrease of 4% from previous estimates, and the project remains in exploration stage with no production timeline announced. Development will depend on gold prices and funding.

What to Watch

  • Any announcement of a scoping study or feasibility study for The Ladies deposits.
  • Further drilling results to expand resources or upgrade inferred categories.
  • Progress on permitting or infrastructure agreements for the Lake Johnson plant.
