Anthropic’s spending commitments face scrutiny

According to the amended IPO prospectus covered by Zotpaper, Anthropic reported $17 billion in third-quarter revenue, a $567 million operating loss and roughly $895.4 billion in compute and infrastructure commitments. Rohan Paul, citing the Telegraph, said additional unpriced commitments could bring the bill to $1.07 trillion, with payments stretching to 2045. Gary Marcus argued that the figures point to financial trouble rather than a strong business.

Those payments stretch to 2045, with $69.8B due within a year, against $131.9B in cash and short-term investments.
