Alabama PSC asks Alabama Power to immediately stop billing customers for TV ads
Commission votes to request voluntary end to billing advertising costs to ratepayers
The Alabama Public Service Commission voted Tuesday to request that Alabama Power voluntarily stop including the cost of television commercials and other advertising in customers' electric bills, effective immediately. The request comes ahead of a new state law that will prohibit the costs of those commercials from being included in customers' bills from 2029. Alabama Power spent more than $6 million in general advertising last year.
