Students give Victorian schools an average 50.8 out of 100 for bullying management
Survey analysis shows strong link between bullying management and student connection; former principal says poor results indicate a failure to connect with students
An analysis of the 2025 Attitudes to School Survey from more than 300 Victorian public secondary schools has found a strong correlation between how students rate their school's management of bullying and how connected they feel to the school. Statewide, students gave schools average scores of 50.8 out of 100 for managing bullying and 49.8 for connection. David Loader, a former principal and chair of the Institute for Educational Reform, said the results indicated a 'failure' of the education system to connect with students.
