Six sweeteners linked to faster cognitive decline, study finds
Research tracking nearly 13,000 adults over eight years found high consumption of low- and no-calorie sweeteners was associated with a 62 percent faster decline in memory and thinking skills
People who consume the highest amounts of low- and no-calorie sweeteners experience significantly faster declines in memory and thinking abilities than those who consume the least, according to a study published in Neurology, the journal of the American Academy of Neurology. The association was strongest among adults under 60 and those with diabetes.
