Heavily armed police unit to patrol Sydney tourist hotspots after Bondi attack
Inaugural commander says Circular Quay 'vulnerable' to terror attack as NSW Police's Armed Response Command begins operations
NSW Police's new Armed Response Command (ARC) will begin patrolling Sydney's tourist hotspots, places of worship and mass gatherings from Sunday, with its inaugural commander warning that Circular Quay is particularly vulnerable to a terror attack. The $94 million unit was established in response to the Bondi Beach terror attack last December, in which 15 people were killed.
