Evidence points to hidden companion star ploughing through Betelgeuse's atmosphere
Radio observations of the red supergiant's changing shape support the existence of a close-orbiting star, Siwarha
New radio observations suggest a smaller companion star, Siwarha, is travelling directly through the outer atmosphere of Betelgeuse, the red supergiant in Orion, and may be disturbing its outer layers and influencing its shape.
