Democrat Troy Jackson defeats Susan Collins to flip Maine Senate seat for Democrats
Republican incumbent concedes after 30 years in the Senate
Republican Senator Susan Collins of Maine conceded the race for a sixth term to Democrat Troy Jackson early Wednesday, ending a 30-year tenure and handing Democrats a key flip in their bid for control of the chamber. 'For every family doing everything they can and wondering when somebody is going to do something for them, you have gotten me into this and you're going to have someone who is fighting for you in Washington, D.C.,' Jackson told supporters at an election night party in Portland.
