Caribbean tour puts King Charles at 'crossroads' over slavery apology and reparations
Campaigners warn nine-day visit could accelerate moves to remove the king as head of state
King Charles begins a nine-day tour of the Caribbean on Tuesday facing protests and demands for a formal apology and reparations for Britain's role in the transatlantic slave trade, with campaigners warning the visit could accelerate moves to remove him as head of state in several countries. He will visit the Bahamas and Guyana before travelling to Antigua and Barbuda for the Commonwealth heads of government meeting (Chogm).
