Study challenges supernova theory of cosmic reionization
New research suggests early stars' light, not supernovas, cleared the fog of the early universe
A new study by University of Michigan astronomer Cody Carr has found that supernovas may not have driven the Epoch of Reionization as previously thought, and may have dampened the process. The research points to the intense light of newborn stars as the most viable source of the radiation that cleared the cosmic fog.
