eCash Bitcoin fork goes live, giving eligible BTC holders new ECX tokens
eCash launches with five Drivechains sidechains, while ECX remains unavailable on larger exchanges
Bitcoin holders who controlled their private keys at block 973,728 received a windfall in late October when the eCash network, a Bitcoin hard fork launched by LayerTwo Labs founder Paul Sztorc, went live and gave them equivalent ECX balances. The fork, built from Bitcoin’s code, is designed to bring payments, privacy and other applications to the network through its signature Drivechains sidechain system, though the tokens are not yet widely available on larger crypto exchanges.
