Senators demand Meta answer for smart glasses privacy concerns
Wyden and Markey cite investigation into glasses used to harass workers, question use of intimate imagery for AI training
US Senators Ron Wyden and Edward Markey have demanded Meta answer for privacy concerns raised by its smart glasses, citing an investigation that found the devices were used to harass massage parlor workers. In a letter sent Wednesday, the senators pressed the tech giant on what safeguards, if any, it has to prevent nonconsensual capture of intimate imagery and what imagery it uses to train its AI systems.
