OCC urges community banks to issue stablecoins under GENIUS Act
Regulator sets January 2027 compliance date amid banking groups' deposit-drain concerns
The U.S. Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) on Monday urged community banks to enter the stablecoin market, including by applying to issue their own dollar-pegged tokens under the GENIUS Act.
