Brisbane council unveils 20-year Mount Coot-tha draft plan with no zipline
The vision prioritises the summit ahead of the 2032 Olympics and flags ecotourism options for the TV studios listed for sale, while Labor's Jared Cassidy calls the plans unattainable.
Brisbane City Council has unveiled a draft 20-year vision for Mount Coot-tha that contains no zipline and sets out how broadcast sites listed for sale could be used for ecotourism. The plan, developed for the council by the Brisbane Sustainability Agency, focuses on improving existing attractions, picnic spots and walking trails, and investigates rehabilitating the existing quarry. It is expected to be finalised in mid-2027, with costing to follow.
