Sam Walker scores on debut as Kangaroos hold narrow 12-10 half-time lead over Fiji
Kevin Walters' wholesale reshuffle tested by resurgent Fiji Bati in the wet
Sam Walker scored a debut try for the Kangaroos but could not shake an inspired Fiji, who went to half-time trailing just 12-10 in their Rugby League World Cup clash at Brisbane's Suncorp Stadium. Making 10 changes from their comeback win over New Zealand, Kangaroos coach Kevin Walters handed the No.7 jersey to the Roosters premiership-winner Walker, who partnered Tom Dearden in the halves alongside skipper James Tedesco.
