Judge rules Trump administration's H-2A farmworker pay cut illegal, orders new formula by Dec. 30
Growers who paid lower wages may owe back pay; California has already set a higher state minimum
A federal judge has ruled that the Trump administration illegally cut wages for foreign farm guest workers, giving the U.S. Labor Department until Dec. 30 to rewrite the pay formula for nearly 400,000 seasonal jobs. If the deadline is missed, wages automatically snap back to rates set under the Biden administration, and growers who paid the lower rates may owe back pay.
