Adelaide Hills residents vow to fight proposed 1,200MW AI data centre
Quantum DC postpones consultations amid safety concerns; Liberal, Greens and One Nation back locals
Residents of the Adelaide Hills say they will fight a proposed hyperscale AI data centre near Mount Torrens, after developer Quantum DC postponed community consultations and locals staged their own protests. The company wants to build a 1,200-megawatt facility on Collins Road in Tungkillo, about 41 kilometres directly east of Adelaide's CBD, with the first stage due to begin in 2028. No formal application has been lodged with state planning authorities.
