Rivian expands Volkswagen joint venture to include AI assistant technology

Rivian has expanded its $5.8 billion joint venture with Volkswagen Group to include licensing elements of its AI voice assistant technology, the company said Thursday in its third-quarter investor presentation. The licensing deal extends the scope of the partnership, which was originally focused on electrical architecture and software.
