Police feared Andrew would cite King's property ownership to stall search, documents reveal
Thames Valley Police sought warrants ahead of February arrest amid concerns evidence could be lost
Thames Valley Police feared Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor might try to delay a search of his Sandringham home by arguing the property belonged to King Charles III, newly published legal documents show. Officers were concerned a delay would risk losing evidence. The warrants were obtained ahead of his 19 February arrest on suspicion of misconduct in public office, an arrest that followed the publication of US Department of Justice materials detailing his connections to Jeffrey Epstein. Last week, a court ruled those search warrants were unlawful. Mountbatten-Windsor has denied any wrongdoing.
