Chad Schofield rode Tempted to a half-neck victory over the world's highest-rated horse Ka Ying Rising in Saturday's $20 million Everest at Randwick, ending the defending champion's unbeaten run at 21. The Ciaron Maher-trained mare, sent out at $6.50 as the track dried to soft 5, struck the front 300 metres out and held off the $1.35 favourite's late charge.
