Royal Navy tracked Russian spy ship off Outer Hebrides during major NATO exercise
HMS Tyne, HMS Dauntless and Merlin helicopters tracked three Russian vessels
Over the final days of September and the first two weeks of October, Royal Navy warships and helicopters completed three missions tracking Russian naval activity in waters around Scotland, with Merlin helicopters from Royal Naval Air Station Culdrose deployed at short notice to monitor the Vishnya-class spy ship Viktor Leonov near the Outer Hebrides.
