Thames Water creditors to vote on £2.4bn emergency loan as cash runs low
Labour politicians and campaigners call for special administration
A group of Thames Water creditors will vote on Thursday on whether to increase a funding facility by £2.4bn to keep the debt-laden utility operating until autumn 2027, as campaigners warn the loan could add £40 per household in interest alone if passed on to bills. Andy Burnham is also weighing whether to allow a creditor takeover or nationalise the company.
