A new BBC programme, Unseen: The Aberfan Portraits, explores how artist William Richardson created about 100 portraits of children killed in the Aberfan disaster, offering families a way to keep their memories alive. For nearly 60 years, the paintings have hung in homes across the Welsh village, becoming cherished reminders of those who never grew up.
