US actress Carla Jeffery, who appeared in the 2018 Disney Channel movie Zombies and two sequels, has died at the age of 33, her agent confirmed on Thursday.
Jeffery played cheerleader Bree in the hit musical Zombies (2018), Zombies 2 (2020) and Zombies 3 (2022). She also had a recurring role in HBO's Curb Your Enthusiasm as a member of the Black family who move in with Larry David after Hurricane Katrina.
Her agent, Carla Alexander, described Jeffery as “a beautiful, vibrant and incredibly talented woman whose radiant smile could light up any room.”
In an Instagram post, her management company Alexanders Talent wrote: “Our hearts are broken as we mourn the loss of our beloved Carla Jeffery. For more than 20 years, Carla was part of the Alexanders Talent Management family and watching her grow from a talented young girl into the beautiful, vibrant woman and actress she became was an incredible privilege.”
The post added: “We will remember her infectious smile, her laughter, her talent, and the beautiful light she carried everywhere she went.”
Jeffery’s twin brother Carlon, also an actor, shared the management statement on his own social media along with a clip of his sister on a beach and a screenshot of an undated text message. He wrote: “Hey Sis, call me back when you get this. I was just calling to see how your day went! I love you to th…” – the post was cut off.
One co-star from the Zombies franchise said Jeffery “made every day better and brighter with your infectious positivity.” No cause of death has been publicly disclosed, and the family has asked for privacy.
