Epoch AI reported autonomous Firefox exploits, while Mistral released model weights with claims about coding and cyberdefense. Anthropic described its approach to detecting misuse, and accounts of a DeepMind essay focused on coordination between AI agents as an economic constraint.

Mistral releases Large 4 weights

Mistral says it released the weights of Mistral Large 4, also called Le Chonk, and claims first place among open models on Cognition’s FrontierCode benchmark. Mistral also claims state-of-the-art cyberdefense capabilities following testing by vendors including CrowdStrike and Cloudflare; MTS reports that its CRO, Marjorie Janiewicz, argues enterprises need open models, control and customization as chatbot returns approach their limits.

Today, we release the weights of a new and improved Le Chonk, advancing the open frontier for agentic coding and cybersecurity.

The other topic is ROI from general purpose AI and from chatbots is going to meet its limits. We need to empower larger enterprises to transform their core business, and for that you need control and you need customization.
