Apple on 27 October announced transformative updates to its Creator Studio suite, which includes Final Cut Pro, Logic Pro, Pixelmator Pro, Keynote, Pages and Numbers. The updates add artificial intelligence features, expanded creative tools and new content libraries across the suite.
Final Cut Pro for Mac now integrates MotionVFX directly, giving editors access to thousands of templates, titles, transitions, and tools for rotoscoping, tracking and colour grading. The Content Hub, now available within Final Cut Pro, offers a library of stock videos, photos and backgrounds. Editors can also open any image from their timeline in Pixelmator Pro, edit it and save changes back automatically, no reimporting required.
Pixelmator Pro introduces Generate Fill, a tool that lets users circle an area of an image and describe a change in natural language. The generated content automatically matches the lighting, perspective and texture of the surrounding environment, and can be merged into existing layers or inserted as new layers with intelligent masking.
Logic Pro for Mac gains a new intelligent assistant in beta, powered by a combination of Apple-built models and OpenAI, that can help creators navigate production workflows, start a new song or set up a vocal track from a single prompt. The Stem Splitter has been enhanced to separate drums, and the Browser has been redesigned to centralise loops, instruments and effect patches, with on-device music understanding and integration with the Splice library. Logic Pro also receives a new Liquid Glass design.
Keynote, Pages and Numbers introduce AI assistants in beta that understand document context, along with Model Context Protocol (MCP) support for workflow automation. The Content Hub now includes stock video, and new premium themes and templates are available across the suite.
Motion adds built-in MotionVFX plug-ins for cinematic colour grading, 3D camera tracking and one-click selection for visual effects. Compressor gains the ability to encode Cinematic mode video recorded on iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone Duo.
“This is our most exciting update since the launch of Apple Creator Studio,” said Brent Chiu-Watson, Apple’s senior director of Worldwide Product Marketing for Apps and iCloud. He said MotionVFX content in Final Cut Pro gives subscribers access to extensive professional video effects, and that the assistant capabilities “are going to change the game for how people interact with and learn to use these apps.”
The updates will be available on the App Store in November as a free update for existing subscribers.
