Ripple said the 24/7 Returns product allows eligible corporate clients to earn returns on qualifying digital assets, including its RLUSD stablecoin, held in Ripple wallets. It is designed to help companies earn returns on operating cash that would otherwise sit idle overnight, on weekends and on public holidays, without managing the underlying digital asset transactions themselves. Ripple also introduced an orchestration layer that integrates its GSmart artificial intelligence capabilities with cash forecasting, reconciliation, liquidity management and payment execution. The rollout builds on Ripple's $1 billion acquisition of treasury management provider GTreasury in October 2025.
On the same day, Aviva Investors, the asset management arm of UK insurer Aviva, launched a tokenized share class of its Sterling Liquidity Fund on the XRP Ledger, the second such offering after its US Dollar Liquidity Fund moved to XRPL in July. Aviva made a £50 million ($66 million) investment in the new share class, bringing its combined investments across the two tokenized offerings to more than £86 million ($116 million). The Ireland-domiciled fund invests in high-grade sterling-denominated short-term debt instruments and offers daily liquidity. Its tokenized version uses a digital twin structure, representing ownership on the XRP Ledger while preserving the underlying fund's existing investment arrangements.
Aviva said the move makes it one of Europe's largest asset management providers of tokenized money market funds. The launch uses the XRP Ledger's Multi-Purpose Token (MPT) standard, which lets financial institutions define how digital assets are held, transferred and recovered. XRPL Foundation contributor Vet noted three restrictions on the Aviva token: holders must be authorized, the issuer can claw back tokens under specified circumstances, and transfers between investors are disabled. BNY Mellon remains custodian of the underlying fund assets, while Komainu provides digital asset custody support and Licuido supplies tokenization infrastructure.
Mark Versey, CEO of Aviva Investors, said: "We believe tokenised funds can increase efficiency and ultimately lead to improved client outcomes." He added that the company intends to explore additional opportunities with Ripple.
The launch is part of a broader collaboration between Aviva and Ripple to bring more tokenized funds to the XRP Ledger. According to RWA.xyz data, XRPL is the ninth-largest blockchain network for tokenized assets, with $642 million in total distributed real-world asset value and about 2,900 unique holders.
Ripple also named American Airlines, Subway, Adecco, Kingfisher, Christian Louboutin and Trax among businesses served by its treasury platform, though the announcement did not establish that these companies are participating in the new returns program or using XRP and RLUSD.
The commercial opportunity is substantial, but adoption data suggests corporate treasuries remain cautious. The Association for Financial Professionals' 2026 Liquidity Survey found that 46% of organizations increased their US cash balances, 86% would consider real-time money market funds if they complied with their investment policies, yet only 1% were already using or piloting stablecoins or tokenized products, with another 9% actively exploring them.
Whether the developments increase demand for XRP remains an open question. Transactions on the XRP Ledger require XRP-denominated fees, and accounts must maintain XRP reserves, but standard transaction fees are extremely small and Aviva's investments in tokenized fund shares do not represent equivalent purchases of XRP. RLUSD operates across multiple blockchains, and Ripple's payment infrastructure can settle in stablecoins or conventional currencies without necessarily using XRP. Ripple has not disclosed the returns available through 24/7 Returns, the mechanisms generating them, or whether participating companies will route transactions through the XRP Ledger.
