Audio AI company ElevenLabs said users will be able to publish AI-generated music created on its ElevenMusic platform directly to SoundCloud. The company is also offering SoundCloud Artist Pro users three months of access to ElevenMusic Pro.

SoundCloud CEO Eliah Seton said in a statement that SoundCloud would be the first platform to bring ElevenMusic creations directly to fans beyond its own ecosystem. He said, “SoundCloud has always been a place where artists experiment, push boundaries, and turn creative ideas into something bigger.”

ElevenLabs released its first music generation model in 2025, followed by a consumer app in April 2026 that lets users generate songs using prompts, and a month later a new model capable of switching genres mid-track and handling more complex vocals. The company said users have created over 25 million tracks using its models.

SoundCloud has also been giving AI tools to artists. Last month it partnered with AI music tooling company Moises to let artists export and import songs to and from SoundCloud, and it also has integrations with Google Flow Music and the remix platform Hook.

Music streaming platforms today seem more inclined towards labeling and helping users filter out AI-generated music. Deezer is introducing a toggle to filter out AI music, Bandcamp has put a blanket ban on AI-generated tracks, while Spotify and YouTube have taken a more cautious approach to labeling such content. ElevenLabs also has a partnership with Spotify for audiobook narration.

Analysis

Why This Matters

  • Artists using ElevenMusic can now distribute AI-generated tracks to SoundCloud's audience, significantly expanding their potential reach.
  • This partnership signals that major streaming platforms may become more open to hosting AI-created content, influencing industry practices.
  • It could prompt other services to either follow suit with integrations or tighten their own rules on AI music, shaping the future of music distribution.

Background

ElevenLabs, an AI audio company best known for voice synthesis, expanded into music generation in 2025. SoundCloud has long been a platform for experimental and independent artists, and has been actively integrating AI tools through partnerships with Moises, Google Flow Music, and Hook. This integration marks the first time ElevenMusic creations can be published outside ElevenLabs' own ecosystem.

What to Watch

  • Whether the initial three-month promotion is extended or expanded to all SoundCloud users.
  • How labels and industry groups respond to the increased availability of AI-generated music on a major platform.
  • Whether competing platforms like Spotify announce similar model partnerships or instead adopt more restrictive labeling policies.
