Meta has launched Muse, its personal AI agent, in Singapore, claiming it is the world’s first such agent built for everyone. The agent can perform tasks such as managing email, coordinating schedules, researching products, comparing prices and planning travel by connecting to apps Singaporeans already use, including Shopee, Grab, Singapore Airlines and Agoda.

Meta announced the availability of Muse in Singapore on 28 October 2026. The agent is designed to not only answer questions but also take tasks and projects off users' plates, turning long-term goals into action plans.

Muse runs on Muse Secure VM, a dedicated cloud computer that securely stores data and credentials for connected services while keeping passwords and payment methods out of the agent’s view. Users choose what Muse can access, and it checks with them before sensitive actions such as sending an email or making a purchase.

Early local connector partners in Singapore include Shopee, Grab, Singapore Airlines, Agoda, ShopBack, Klook, Trip.com and Lazada, spanning shopping, groceries, dining and travel. Connector features will roll out progressively, with some experiences becoming available after launch.

Nicole Tan, Managing Director of Meta Singapore, said: “Muse is your personal agent, built to help make everyday life easier. We are connecting Muse with some of the most iconic brands in Singapore and the region, so you can get things done with the services you already use and love.”

Muse is available on iOS, Android and at muse.ai, and is coming soon to AI glasses. It is free for most needs, with subscription plans for those who want more.

Analysis

Why This Matters

  • Muse represents Meta's entry into the personal AI agent space, where agents actively perform tasks rather than just answering questions, potentially changing how users interact with digital services.
  • The launch focuses on privacy and control, with a dedicated secure virtual machine designed to protect user data and require consent for sensitive actions, setting a benchmark for trust in consumer AI.
  • Partnerships with major Singaporean platforms (Shopee, Grab, Singapore Airlines) could drive rapid adoption and provide a model for future launches in other markets.

Background

Meta has been integrating AI across its platforms, including generative AI features in Facebook and Instagram. Muse is a standalone personal AI agent that the company says was built from the ground up for safety, security, privacy and wide availability. The initial launch in Singapore allows Meta to test the agent with a tech-savvy population and a dense network of partner services before expanding elsewhere.

What to Watch

  • How quickly Meta expands Muse beyond Singapore to other countries and regions.
  • User adoption rates and feedback on the agent’s ability to manage tasks across multiple services seamlessly.
  • Potential privacy and security scrutiny as hands-on AI agents gain access to sensitive personal accounts and data.
