Police say they are closing in on the attackers who allegedly killed a 19-year-old woman and wounded three men in a drive-by shooting just outside Brisbane.
Vana-Reese Schuster-Togiatau died days after being shot at a boxing event held at Fitzy's pub in Loganholme on October 24. Three men were also hit by bullets from a passing car and survived.
CCTV showed two men in the vehicle, which was later found on fire at Moloney Road in Waterford West. About 80 staff have been working on the police investigation.
Deputy Commissioner for Specialist Operations Cheryl Scanlon suggested on Thursday afternoon that more people may have been involved in the crime. “That takes planning,” she said. “Whatever role people have played, if people have information we want to know about it.” “I do think there are others out there who haven't given us information about individuals, and I would like to hear from those people.”
Scanlon said police had made significant progress in recent weeks. Investigators have continued to call for anyone with information on the shooting to come forward. Less than 24 hours after Schuster-Togiatau died, the gym behind the boxing event targeted in the shooting announced its indefinite closure.
