Hadley spent several days on the witness stand, giving evidence about a conversation he had with a complainant known as “C”, who allegedly confided in him about unwanted kissing and touching by Jones. Hadley also revealed that he provided a police statement about Jones in 2024.
Jones’ legal team has sought to portray Hadley as the central figure in a “Shakespearean tragedy about treachery and revenge”, according to reports from the proceedings. The cross-examination took a dramatic turn when Hadley was shown messages — described as expletive-laden — that he had sent to a complainant about Jones.
The trial involves allegations of indecent assault and sexual touching against the veteran broadcaster. The court has heard that complainant “C” confided in Hadley about the alleged incidents before they were reported to police.
Hadley has now wrapped up his evidence, and the case continues into its fifth week with further witnesses expected to be called.
