Three people have been injured, two critically, in a stabbing at a residence across the road from Dandenong North Primary School in south-east Melbourne. Police have said those involved were known to each other and they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.
Emergency services were called to a home on Woodlee Street in Dandenong at about 11:30 this morning. A 28-year-old woman was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries, while two men, aged 26 and 35, were in hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Dandenong North Primary School was placed into lockdown.
Dandenong Family Violence Investigation Unit detectives said the circumstances surrounding the suspected stabbings were yet to be established. A crime scene guard remains in place on Woodlee Street.
Rena Mirra, owner of a nearby hairdressing salon, said she and others heard sirens. One customer walked down to the site and said a man was lying on the nature strip and was taken on a stretcher into an ambulance. Mirra said Woodlee Street remained closed off, with police door-knocking at nearby businesses and residences.
Anyone who was in the area at the time and may have dashcam or CCTV footage is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
