BlueScope earnings windfall tied to Trump steel tariffs
Australian steelmaker raises earnings forecast after near-75pc profit surge from North American operations
Australian steel company BlueScope has significantly raised its earnings forecast, driven largely by a near 75 per cent increase in earnings from its North American mini-mill. The windfall is attributed to US President Donald Trump's tariffs on steel and aluminium imports, which have pushed domestic US steel prices to their highest level in four years.
