Lunar meteorites provide more representative Moon samples than Apollo, scientists say

Lunar meteorites offer a more representative sampling of the Moon than the rocks returned by the Apollo missions, but scientists still do not know exactly where on the Moon they originate, according to researchers studying the rare space rocks. The meteorites, pieces of the lunar surface blasted into space and eventually falling to Earth, provide a window onto the Moon's earliest formation and could help answer outstanding questions about the lunar crust.
